The Promotion of Internationalisation scholarship supports German and international degree-seeking students at the University of Passau who wish to complete part of their degree programme at a university abroad.
Important: Please submit your application before The start of your stay abroad! In general, applications are processed after the application deadline.
The University of Passau has received funds from the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts for the purpose of promoting internationalisation.
These funds can be used to provide travel grants to students.
Both German students and international students can apply for a travel grant for their stay abroad.
Only the actual travel costs incurred (flight tickets, airport transfers) are eligible for funding:
The financial circumstances of the applicant and the person(s) who are obligated to provide maintenance will be taken into account to an appropriate extent. Your gross annual income will not affect the stipend if it is below the following threshold amounts:
Doctoral candidates (national, international) cannot be funded through the programme.
Please send applications for your internship abroad exclusively to Future: Careers and Competencies (please note the relevant application deadlines).
After the stay abroad, the following must be submitted:
If these documents are no longer available, a declaration must be written by the student confirming that the tickets have not been submitted to another institution for funding of the project. This declaration must be signed by the student.
For semesters abroad, the certificate of enrolment from the foreign university must be submitted.
Grants cannot be awarded for language courses abroad or for tuition fees charged by foreign universities.
The scholarship funds are primarily used for students at an advanced stage of their studies (in their 3rd semester or higher) and for younger graduates; relevant supporting documents must be submitted.
In order to receive this funding, students must submit an academic appraisal from a professor at the University of Passau describing in detail the student’sproject, level of performance and eligibility for funding.
