Blended Intensive Programme

The Erasmus+ programme generation 2021-2027 offers Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) as a means to support group activities, online cooperation, and innovative learning and teaching methods. The focus is on students and university staff who have so far been unable to participate in long-term mobility abroad.

  • Short and intensive on-site teaching and learning activity: 5 - 30 days, combined with a virtual component before, during, or after the short-term stay.
  • Collaboration with at least two other higher education institutions from different programme countries with a valid Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
  • External partners, such as public institutions or companies, may be involved.
  • Eligible from 15 (or 10 from project 2024 onwards) mobile learners (students or university staff in training and professional development); a maximum of 20 learners can receive financial support (additional participants without financial funding are possible).
  • Award of at least 3 ECTS credits.
  • Coordination is the responsibility of the respective department.

For mobile students and doctoral candidates:

  • Individual support for the on-site phase: €79 per day up to the 14th funded day and €56 per day from the 15th to the 30th funded day.
  • Additional funding for participants with fewer opportunities: a one-time payment of €100 for a physical mobility of 5-14 days or €150 for a physical mobility of 15-30 days.
  • Distance-based travel allowance for participants with fewer opportunities in project 2023, and for all mobile participants from project 2024 onwards (based on the EU Commission's distance calculator).
  • Green Travel: a one-time payment of €50 for participants not eligible for additional funding (fewer opportunities) in project 2023.
  • No financial support for the virtual phase or for an on-site phase at the home university.

For mobile university staff:

For the organisation of BIPs in Passau:

  • Support through Erasmus+ funds is possible; early inquiry with the International Office is required.

  • Applications to the NA DAAD are submitted once a year via the International Office.
  • Departments are encouraged to contact the International Office at an early stage.
