Other airports

The airports in Nürnberg (NUE) and Vienna (VIE) can also be reached fairly easily from Passau. However, these generally require tickets for high speed / long distance trains, which are more costly when bought on the day of travel or as flexible tickets. You can travel to and from all other German airports, like Frankfurt (FRA), Leipzig/Halle (LEJ) or Berlin (BER) with Rail&Fly Tickets, if your chosen airline offers them.

Arriving by car

Leave the autobahn A3 at exit 'Passau Mitte' and, at the traffic lights, turn left in the direction of Passau. Follow the road for about one kilometre, then take the first exit right onto Pionierstrasse. Proceed along this road until you reach a T-junction, then turn left onto Neuburgerstrasse. Keep going straight along this street. After about 1.5 kilometres, when you reach the fifth set of traffic lights, turn right onto Leonhard-Paminger-Strasse and keep going until you reach the T-junction, where you should turn left onto Innstrasse. You will see the University buildings come up on your right and left as you continue along Innstrasse.

For more information on parking spaces and car parksplease refer to the parking in Passau guide provided by the city. Please note that parking spaces in the University car parks are in very short supply during the semester!
