Digitalisation Hub: Invitation to "AI under the magnifying glass"
The European Union seeks to comprehensively regulate artificial intelligence (AI) with the upcoming Artificial Intelligence Act (or AI Act), which is currently being at the bill stage. Since it is directly applicable European law, the new act will have a major impact on research conducted at the University of Passau.
This concerns not only the AI development work in computer science, such as on language models and analysis tools, but also the use of AI-enabled software or online services across all academic disciplines.
At the invitation of the University's Digitalisation Hub, Kai Zenner, Head of Office for Axel Voss MEP, will talk about his own perspective on the key challenges of the ongoing development process and the opportunities and risks we can expect to arise from the likely requirements in Room 017 (IT Centre Building, Innstr. 43) on 22 November starting 16:30. This will be followed by a discussion with academics and practitioners in the field. Audience members are also welcome to participate. The event ends at 18:00.
We look forward to seeing you there!
