Application for a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship

The selection process for the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship consists of two selection rounds.

The following documents must be submitted digitally for the application:
- application form
- a current curriculum vitae in tabular form
- letter of motivation (max. 1 page; not AI-generated)
- your university entrance qualification certificate (international applicants: the foreign certificate of university entrance and additionally the uni-assist verification report
- your bachelor's certificate (for applicants studying for a master’s degree)
- current certificate of enrolment

⇒ Master's programme: Scholarship is only possible within the standard period of study! - proof of previous academic achievements (current Campus Portal printout, intermediate examination certificate, other certificates of achievement)
- proof of stated social commitment
- proof of social/personal circumstances
All documents must have been issued or translated into English or German.
- In accordance with § 3 StipG [German content], applicants' social and/or personal circumstances are taken into account in the application process. These so-called soft factors, which are listed separately in the online form, must be adequately documented and described, e.g. by a current medical certificate or a letter of reference from the psychosocial counselling service of the Student Services Association (Studierendenwerk), the Chaplaincy or a similar recognised institution. Please do not ask the faculty administrations (Deans' Offices) for any supporting letters.
- Statements not sufficiently backed up with supporting documents cannot be taken into consideration for the scholarship application. Please check all details again before submitting your application.
If your programme does not start until the winter semester, you can still apply for the Deutschlandstipendium.
You will then be assessed on the basis of:
- your university entrance qualification certificate (international applicants: the foreign certificate of university entrance and additionally the uni-assist verification report
- your bachelor's degree certificate (for applicants studying for a master’s degree)
- the current certificate of enrolment (can be submitted as soon as you receive it, but at the latest when you receive the final confirmation of enrolment)
All documents must have been issued or translated into English or German. Certificates issued in a language other than German or English that are not accompanied by an official translation will not be taken into consideration.
Applicants who are short-listed for the second selection round will be informed by e-mail.
