In India, this day is commemorated with extensive ceremonies and plenty of enthusiasm – and members of the university group want to instil some of this excitement in Passau. In this spirit, a sports day will be held at the the University's Sports Centre (Innstrasse 45) on 15 August, to which we would like to cordially invite you and everyone else interested.

Starting at 9:30, the focus will be on cricket, India's favourite sport, with a 10-round friendly match-up. Anyone eager to not just watch but actively play the sport can do so in various “ice-breaker games” from 8:30 onwards. Alongside cricket, visitors will also get a chance to become familiar with kho kho, a traditional game that originated in ancient India, where quick reflexes, strategic thinking, and camaraderie reign supreme. People from all countries will be very familiar with the closing discipline starting at 13:30: tug-of-war for all!

We look forward to seeing you there!
