Under the Erasmus+ programme, it is possible to combine study and work experience in a single study period abroad, provided that the following conditions are met:
a) the internship takes place under the supervision of the host university where the student is studying; the internship period must be defined in the learning agreement for studies.
(b) the internship and the programme occur directly in sequence or are at least completed in the same academic year and within one eligibility period.
This combination is considered an Erasmus+ study period (SMS); the duration of the two parts is arbitrary (but a total of at least 3 months and a maximum of 12 months, provided that the student’s mobility quota is still fully available).
The application is made informally by e-mail to the Erasmus+ coordinator, Ms Franziska Hanisch.
The application must be accompanied by the learning agreement and proof that the internship will take place under the supervision of the host university. The application must be submitted to the International Office six weeks before the start of the internship.
The requirements for granting the grant are based on the funding guidelines of the Erasmus+ Internship Scholarship. Further information on internships can be found on the website of the Centre for Careers and Competencies.
