Student halls are convenient, usually affordable, and adapted for the needs of students. Most include common rooms and social areas. Rooms are usually furnished and most halls include utility bills in the rent. Because of this convenience, they are very popular and there are usually more people wanting rooms in halls than there are rooms available, especially in the winter semester.
The Studentenwerk (Student Services Association Bavaria & Upper Palatinate) manages four student halls of residence in Passau.
