The programme will be kicking off on 6 May 2024 with an exhibition of the posters that garnered awards in the competition “Erste Wahl” (First Election) organised by representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament Liaison Office in Germany – with the aim of informing, inspiring debate, and motivating first-time voters to play their democratic part in the EU and vote. “Europe: Vision, Utopia, Reality?! – an evening of readings“ will likewise be held on 6 May 2024 from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Library Lounge.
On 7 May 2024, the “EUropaTour Bayern 2024“ is invited to the Bavarian State Chancellery. The Europe bus will be set up in Klostergarten park, right next to the weekly market. The tour is due to visit a total of forty-three municipalities in all of Bavaria's regional districts, spending one day in each of them. Carrying the slogan „Vote for your future“, the tour will feature an extensive programme of activities revolving around the European Union for both young and old to participate in, learn from and enjoy – along with numerous presentations and workshops provided by academics and students from the University of Passau, the Alumni Club, EUROPE DIRECT, the European Region Danube-Vltava Association, the Young European Federalists (JEF) student society, and the student society GoverNet.
On 13 May 2024, EUROPE DIRECT and the Science Hub for Europe will be holding a panel discussion on “20 years of Czech EU membership: Taking stock of integration, and a look ahead. The EU's enlargement policy from a regional perspective“. The discussion round will be taking place in Room 017 of the University of Passau IT Centre at 19:00.
