For triple didactics constellations, you may not additionally choose your teaching subject as a didactics subject. The rule that a subject may not be selected twice holds true also for triple-didactics constellations.

There are no aptitude tests for the didactics subjects for music, art or physical education.

1st didactics subject: German

If you are already studying German as a teaching subject, you will take one of the following subjects: Didactics of German as a Second Language*, English, Geography, History, Catholic Religious Education or Civics*.

2nd didactics subject: Mathematics

If you are already studying Mathematics as a teaching subject, you will take one of the following subjects: Didactics of German as a Second Language*, English, Geography, History, Catholic Religious Education or Civics*.

3rd didactics subject: Art, Music or Physical Education1

If Art is your teaching subject, you can choose Didactics of German as a Second Language*, English, Geography, History, Catholic Religious Education, Music, Civics* or Physical Education as your third didactics subject.

If you are studying Physical Education as a teaching subject, you can choose Didactics of German as a Second Language*, English, Geography, History, Catholic Religious Education, Music, Civics* or Art.

* The German subject designations for Civics and Didactics of German as a Second Language (hitherto "Sozialkunde" and "Didaktik des Deutschen als Zweitsprache" respectively) were changed in the amendment of the Bavarian Teacher Examination Regulation I of 29 May 2020. The new subject titles are The new subject designations are "Politik und Gesellschaft" (Politics and Society) and "Deutsch als Zweitsprache" (German as a Second Language).

The following rules apply in principle to the combinations of didactics subjects:

  1. You may not choose your teaching subject as one of the three didactics subjects.
  2. You must choose three different didactics subjects.
  3. If you have chosen German or Didactics of German as a Second Language as a teaching subject
    you may not choose either subject as a didactics subject.

In total, therefore, you choose four subjects: one teaching subject and three different didactics subjects.

There are no aptitude tests for the didactics subjects for Music, Art or Physical Education.

In principle:

  1. Teaching subject: German or Mathematics
  2. Didactics subject: One additional subject
  3. Didactics subject: Art, Music, Physical Education or Catholic Religious Education

The following subject combinations are possible:

1st teaching subject: German or Mathematics

If you have chosen German as your teaching subject, you can choose one of the following subjects: Occupational Studies*, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Civics*.

If you have chosen Mathematics as a teaching subject, you have the choice between the following subjects: Occupational Studies*, German, Didactics of German as a Second Language*, English, Geography, History, Civics*.

If your teaching subject is Didactics of German as a Second Language*, you must choose Mathematics.

2nd didactics subject: another subject

Occupational studies*, German, Didactics of German as a Second Language*, English, Geography, History, Mathematics or Civics*

3rd didactics subject: Music or Art or Physical Education or Catholic Religious Education

If Art, Physical Education or Catholic Religious Education is your teaching subject, you can choose one of the following subjects for your third didactics subject:
Occupational studies*, German, Didactics of German as a Second Language*, English, Geography, History, Civics (if your teaching subject is not Catholic Religious Education), Art (unless Art is your teaching subject), Mathematics, Music, Civics*, Physical Education (unless Physical Education is your teaching subject).
