Contestation between the European Union, Russia and China have reached a peak. While causes and prospects of future relations within this triangle are controversially debated in the West, little is known about the debate in Russia beside official state propaganda. Dr. Oxana Karnaukhova offers rare insights into the academic debate of geopolitics in Russia. She reviews the European Union’s policy towards Russia and the Russian policy towards the European Union. Both policies need to take into ac-count foreign policy of the new rising power China. Therefore, the lecture discusses the changing geopolitical environment in the triangle China-Europe-Russia.
