Deutschlandticket for students: current information
In our weekly update sent out on 26 July we informed you that the Deutschlandticket for students will be introduced on 1 October. Students enrolled at the University of Passau will be able to get the discounted Deutschlandticket (also known as the 29-Euro-Ticket) as a supplementary digital subscription added on to their existing semester bus pass.
In practical terms, this means that in order to get the Deutschlandticket, you will only have to pay 23.70 euros per month, since the price will be offset by the 32 euros (pro rata) that you currently have to pay for your semester bus pass as part of your semester contribution.
Please note that it is not the University of Passau itself that offers the 29-euro ticket; instead, it jointly offered by the transport companies in Regensburg and Passau – Regensburger Verkehrsverbund (RVV) and Stadtwerke Passau (SWP). We currently have no specifics on the processing and booking modalities and will inform you in a future update as soon as we have this information.
We will provide full information in English in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you understand German, you can read the currently available information on the Student Services Association website [German content].
