Palm Wine
Palm wine is a alcoholic drink speciality throughout the tropics, and also widespread in Ghana. It is made from the fermented sap of palm trees and has a long history in Ghanaian culture. The finished palm wine has a characteristic sweet and slightly sour taste. Used during festivals and ceremonies, but also in everyday life, palm wine is a traditional side income for farmers and palm tree owners.
