The threat situation in the area of cyber security remains tense to critical. Comprehensive expertise is required in order to strategically and adequately counter these threats in the digital space. The Centre for IT Security leverages synergies at the University of Passau and aims to further pool existing expertise in order to strengthen the visibility of the basic research carried out at the University of Passau in this area (both internally and externally).

Based on research into digital security at the University of Passau (e.g. in PIDS), the Centre for IT Security aims to consistently promote networking and existing collaboration between top researchers at various Bavarian locations who already have significant expertise in the field of digital security.
