One of Passau University’s goals is to further increase the mobility of its students. To this end, students from all faculties can apply for scholarships for short-term stays abroad (up to six months) in certain countries. This applies to both study stays and internships.
German students and German equivalent students with permanent residence in Germany, who are enrolled at the University of Passau, in Diploma, Magister, state examinations, Bachelor or Master programmes and who have not yet received any support from the PROMOS programme in the same educational segment, as well as non-German students and university graduates, who are enrolled in a programme at the University of Passau with the goal to obtain a degree at the University of Passau or a doctorate.
Students can apply taking these conditions into account,
Apart from the Auslands-BAföG (international student loans and grants), students may not receive any further funding for their intended stay. This includes the Erasmus scholarship as well as financial support from other scholarship providers.
Travel and/or subsistence grants (depending on the destination) for the following projects
The maximum funding period is six months. The current funding amount is approx. 350 EUR per month of stay (travel costs are not covered).
Please note that when you apply for a PROMOS scholarship, you are also applying for a travel allowance to promote internationalisation. A double application is therefore not possible and not necessary.
Please apply with the following documents (please no application folders or similar, loose documents are sufficient!):
Additional documents for freemovers:
The aim of the freemover stay is to establish a new partnership. It is important that it is clear from your application that you have made an effort to establish a partnership and that you attach the relevant information to the application documents.
If you are unable to find a professor who will supervise the partnership, you can still apply (with complete documents, but without the professor’s confirmation of support). Your application will then also be considered, albeit at a lower level than that of the students who have a confirmation of support.
In future, only complete documents will be considered. The report may be submitted as the only document up to a maximum of 14 days after the application deadline. Missing documents automatically lead to the exclusion of the application from the procedure, they will not be requested subsequently!
