March 8th is International Women's Day, and therefore exactly the right day to show the strong solidarity of women in computer science and mathematics at the University of Passau. The “FIM women” campaign for equal rights for women in all areas of the faculty. Female colleagues and students mutually support each other in their work and thus create a women-friendly working atmosphere. With the photo campaign they show WHO they are, how MANY they are and with how much MOTIVATION and EXCITEMENT they stand behind what they do – to INSPIRE other women.
Gemma Lienas is a Spanish writer and politician. Born in Barcelona, she studied philosophy, devoted herself to teaching for several years and later moved into publishing. For the book, "Carlota's Purple Diary", where the metaphor of "purple glasses" is found, she received an honourable mention from UNESCO in 2003.

On International Women's Day, we would like to emphasize the importance of the French-German friendship and the major role of academic exchange between our two countries, illustrated by the fruitful partnership between the University of Passau (Axelle Cheney) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique pour l'Industrie et l'Entreprise Paris (ENSIIE, Prof. Mougeot). May these cultural exchanges keep inspiring young people, especially girls, to follow the invitation of Kamala Harris:
Dream with ambition,
lead with conviction,
and see yourself in a way
that others may not,
simply because they’ve never seen it before.
Invitation to the panel discussion on International Women's Day – March 8th, 2021 at 4 p.m.
