We – the Friends of the Jessup Passau e.V. – are a group of former participants, coaches, student coaches, bailiffs, organisers of the German National Rounds 2017 in Passau and other Jessup enthusiasts who are willing to support the University of Passau’s Jessup team. All of us are eager to discuss current issues in international law, to hand on some of our experiences in mooting and discussing law, to build a network in the international sphere, including bridges to the academic and praxis.
On the one hand, we strive to support the University of Passau’s Jessup team by organising trial pleadings or workshops to further the competence of legal writing and presenting – we want to forward some of our experience to the next Jessup teams. On the other hand, we are to institutionalize a network between former participants and coaches, our sponsors, the hosting chair of Professor Dr. Hans-Georg Dederer and everybody who wants to relate to the Jessup team. This is to allow an open exchange of ideas and opinions – relating to exchange years or years abroad, contacts in international law, planning and preparing a doctoral thesis, internships with our partners, organising events and forwarding information, supporting the career start after the first or second State Exam.

We are organised on multiple levels and closely work to support the University of Passau’s Jessup Team. Some of us are (still) living in Passau and function as closest connection to the current team.
