Application and selection process
At the transition from the 2nd to the 3rd semester, the Examination Office of the University of Passau identifies the best 5% of the students of the Bachelor's degree programs "Business Administration and Economics" and "Business Informatics". These students are contacted and invited to apply for the Honors Program. No personal data will be transferred from the Examination Office to the Honors Program in this process.
An application requires the following documents:
- Cover letter (approximately 3000 characters including spaces).
- completed application form
- Consent to data processing
- Curriculum vitae in table form
- HisQis extract
The cover letter should clearly state the motivation for participation in the Honors Program and may also contain ideas on how the student would like to contribute in concrete terms.
Speculative Application |
Students who are not automatically nominated may also submit a speculative application. Applicants should have a grade point average below 2.0 and be in their fourth semester at the most. Entry into the Honors Program is possible at the beginning of each semester. Please send unsolicited applications for the summer semester between 1 and 31 March. Unsolicited applications for the winter semester are possible from 01 October until 10 days after the nominations have been sent out, which is usually in the second half of October. The exact date depends on the faculty-wide deadlines for marking exams from the summer semester and will be announced here in good time during the summer semester.
Students enrolled in the bachelor program "International Cultural and Business Studies" are eligible to apply for the Honors Program if they have reached at least 30 ECTS within the block of economics. Similarily, bachelor students of "Public Governance and Policy" are eligible to apply for the Honors Program as soon as they succeeded in the basic economics module and if they finished at least two additional modules in economics. Bachelor students of "Digital Transformation in Business and Society" can also submit unsolicited applications.
Unsolicited applications should include a letter of motivation, CV, HisQis extract, completed application form and Consent to data processing. Please send all application documents in a single PDF document to: honors.wiwi@uni-passau.de.
