Important information for pregnant and breastfeeding students

The aim of the Maternity Protection Act (Mutterschutzgesetz) is to enable pregnant and breastfeeding students to continue with their studies while at the same time protecting both mother and child from any adverse effects before and after the pregnancy.

One requirement is that the student should not suffer any disadvantages in her studies as a result of her pregnancy, childbirth and during the breastfeeding phase. Any such disadvantages should be avoided or a suitable way to compensate for them must be found. To allow us to make sure of this, please notify us of your pregnancy or breastfeeding phase using the online registration form.

New: Your registration of pregnancy or breastfeeding is sent directly to the Student Registration Office and is then further processed there. Following this, other offices will be involved. Mr Stefan Grüner is your contact person in the Student Registration Office.
