Dear families,

Our topics:
University of Passau: Family Day on 17 November - registration starts on 04.10.
The University of Passau is holding its ninth Family Day on the Day of Prayer and Repentance - on Wednesday, 17 November 2021. Students and employees of the University of Passau as well as employees of the Studentenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz are cordially invited to bring their school-age children and grandchildren to the University. Thanks to the commitment of various institutions, professorships and chairs, a diverse programme for children and young people has been created.
The number of participants in the individual workshops is limited. Registration starts on Monday, 4 October, and is only possible online at https://www.uni-passau.de/familientag/ until Wednesday, 20 October 2021. Places in the individual workshops will always be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis within the registration period.
All further information and the workshop programme can be found in the Family Day 2021 flyer (german) and on the Family Day website.
Please note: The flyer is written in German. An English translation will be available on our Family Day website from 4 October, when registration opens.
Haus am Strom: Mouse Door Opener Day on 03.10.
On Sunday, 3 October, from 10:00 to 12:00, there will be a Mouse Door Opener Day at Haus am Strom in Untergriesbach. Children from the age of 6 can take a look behind the scenes at the Haus am Strom free of charge: how does the exhibition work, what do emerald lizards, Aesculapian snakes and Danube fish eat?

Federal Government: "Corona Time Out for Families"
Since 23 September 2021, families with low incomes and families who have relatives with a disability can book a one-week holiday to relax at a non-profit family holiday centre or youth hostel at greatly reduced prices starting in October. The "Corona Time Out for Families" is part of the German government's two-billion-euro "Catching Up to Corona for Children and Youth" programme.
