Activities on campus

Solar panels on ITZ building in operation

Since the beginning of the week, the roof of the ITZ building hosts the University's first solar panels which are now in operation. It generates electricity for the campus.

The Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Art has promised €4.5m to further expand photovoltaic systems on campus. This will allow us to produce the major part of the University's yearly usage of electricity (4,000 MWh) at low carbon emissions. Currently, the call for offers and planning is underway. We will update you on the progress in the ClimUP-Newsletter.

Tip of the month

Leaves for biodiversity

Increasing biodiversity is super easy. Pile up the fallen leaves in your garden and leave it for the winter. Hedgehogs, insects and other small animals can spend the winter months protected from the cold and you can save several hours of hard work. You can find more information and advantages on the website of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
