BioDIVA participation at International Workshop of CGIAR-Consortium and GIZ in Feldafing, Germany
From November 19th-22nd 2013 the International Workshop of CGIAR-Consortium and GIZ entitled "The Innovation System of Demand Driven Agricultural Research - Bridging the Implementation Gap" took place in Feldafing near Munich.
Funding for international agricultural research for development of the CGIAR research partnership has been increasing over the past years, while at the same time uptake of research outputs for development outcomes remains comparatively low. Not fully understood are the obstacles preventing broad, successful uptake and adoption. The GIZ-CGIAR workshop, organized by the GIZ projects Innovation Transfer into Agriculture / Adaption to Climate Change (ITAACC) and the Advisory Service of Agricultural Research for Development (BEAF) and supported by the CGIAR Consortium, aims at tackling questions of demand-driven research, uptake and adoption and partnerships for developmental impact.
Nearly 50 members of agricultural research organisations, development partners, private sector and NGOs as well as practitioners of technical cooperation in the field of agriculture attended the workshop.
Prof Dr. Martina Padmanabhan was invited to present the BioDIVA project and the handbook Cultivate Diversity during the market place on November 20th.
