The University's contact pages include maps and directions for your first visit to the University.
Most parts of the University of Passau are within walking distance – and the same is true of Passau itself. For a quick overview, see the city map with University buildings, the campus map or the map of wheelchair-accessible facilities on campus.
You can easily reach the university on foot, by bike or by bus using services 8 and 9. The stops along the campus are 'Augustinergasse', 'Universität' and 'Wörthstraße'.
Please consult the overview of the University buildings (German) for details on all buildings and their addresses. This allows you to quickly find the locations of lecture theatres, seminar rooms, Chairs' offices, institutes and centres as well as other facilities and services of the University. The lecture theatres, seminar rooms and labs are also listed in the room directory (German).
Your CampusCard – your key to most services on campus (and even some doors) You will need your CampusCard – the electronic student ID card – for a large number of services: paying for your meals at the refectory and cafeterias, for instance, or when using the printer-copiers on campus, using the electronic lockers or when passing the turnstiles in the Sports Centre. The CampusCard also serves as a bus/semester ticket and is required for access to the student underground car park.
During the semester break, all students of the University of Passau are entitled to park in the underground car park. However, you must prove your parking entitlement by affixing a valid parking permit for the respective semester in a clearly visible place in the car (e.g. on the windscreen). You can download this parking permit online from the campus portal.
During the lecture period, only students whose registered address is located
are entitled to use the car park. A barrier prevents free access from Monday 6:30 a.m. to Friday 12:00 noon. Only students with a parking permit and a car park-enabled CampusCard can open the barrier. Before you can use the car park, you have to get the car park function activated on your CampusCard. This requires a prior application for parking permission and activation for the CampusCard using the online parking permit request form (German) from the Buildings and Estates service office.
Even if you have a parking permit, you must display your parking permit clearly in your car at all times. You can download the parking permit online via the campus portal.
Your parking permit is valid as long as you study at the University of Passau without interruption and meet the requirements specified in the underground car park regulations (German). The parking permit is not transferable, which means you must not let others use the car park on your permit.
Opening hours of the underground car park Innstrasse 27/29 (German)
You need to apply for a new parking permit, if:
If you are not entitled to a parking permit under the 'city limits' definition, you may still be granted a permit for extenuating circumstances. Thus, for example, you may be granted a permit if you are registered disabled with limited mobility or if you are caring for a child with disabilities or a child below the age of 10. You must submit the application in person to the service office and provide the necessary supporting documents.
