Luvia impressed the jury with its innovative concept for the sustainable control of pigeon populations in cities using specially developed pigeon lofts. These pigeon lofts make it possible to replace pigeon eggs with dummies in order to reduce the population humanely and efficiently. The team, consisting of Luisa Hell and Lera Entmayr, impressively demonstrated how ecological and practical solutions can be implemented in urban development. Their place among the top three teams shows that they are on the right track and have the potential to successfully establish their idea on the market.
The Reviving Rugs team, consisting of Julie Drechsle and Viktor Hebel, also competed successfully on behalf of the University of Passau. Their business idea is to create high-quality, handmade bags from Nepalese designer carpet patterns. In addition to sustainability, the team also promotes social justice by offering fair conditions to local workers and supporting women in particular.

It promotes knowledge transfer and start-up support by providing a platform for innovative business ideas. Participation in the Danube Cup is therefore an important step for prospective start-ups to present their projects to a broad, international audience and make valuable contacts.
The success at the Danube Cup 2024 in Linz is another example of the start-up spirit at the University of Passau.
