Flooding: Update on university operations

According to the flood warning service in Bavaria and Germany's flood management centres, water levels in Passau reached their peak levels yesterday, Tuesday, and have now begun to gradually recede.

Buildings and facilities of the University of Passau as well as underground car parks remain open and accessible.

With regard to railway connections and public transport as well as schools and kindergartens in the region, the severity of the situation on the roads and streets varies from area to area. You can obtain detailed and continuously updated overviews of blocks and closures in the Passau region from different sources, including the free newsletter “Achtung, Passau!”. The citizen's hotline (Bürgertelefon) of the City of Passau continues to operate on 0851 396 866 (8:00-16:00).

Please do not put yourself in any unnecessary risk to get to the campus! We explicitly warn you against entering flooded areas and areas covered in sand washed up from the Inn River – these areas are more dangerous than they appear!

In case you are attending courses or seminars or are planning to do so: Lecturers are responsible for any communication regarding their individual classes or seminars. They will keep you informed about any cancellations or rescheduling.

For any other cancellations or rescheduling, please keep an eye on the event calendar of the University of Passau. If you wish to announce a cancellation or reschedule a course or seminar yourself, please send an e-mail to eventmanagement@uni-passau.de – we'll make sure the calendar entry is changed or deleted accordingly.
