The ranking "Germany's best universities for accountancy" is updated every two years by Manager Magazin. Since its first inclusion in April 2020, the University of Passau has consistently maintained a strong position among German universities. 81 accountancy firms and 1396 of their clients were surveyed for the ranking.
The Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration and Economics and the Master's degree programme in Business Administration offer excellent opportunities to prepare for a career as an accountant as well as other professional activities in related areas of finance and accounting and tax and management consulting. "Our teaching in these areas at the University of Passau is characterised by professional standards, practical relevance and the inclusion of current topics, e.g. sustainability reporting, and is also distinguished by excellent supervision," says Professor Christoph Pelger, holder of the Chair of Accounting and Auditing.
The high quality of supervision in the degree programme is also reflected in the Accounting & Tax Specialist Circle recently founded by Professor Vanessa Flagmeier (Junior Professorship of Accounting), Professor Markus Diller (Chair of Tax Management) and Professor Christoph Pelger. This circle gives students with an interest in accounting and tax management the opportunity to exchange ideas with the participating professors and practising partners.
"We are delighted with this renewed excellent ranking, which underlines the very high quality of business education at the University of Passau," concludes Profesor Stefan Bauernschuster, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Information Systems.
